Another Top Ten for Savadori and More Points for De Angelis

Aprilia pairing can count Chang International Circuit as a successful second outing

Thailand proved positive for Team Iodaracing, where riders Lorenzo Savadori and Alex De Angelis came home P9 and P10 in Race 1, with Savadori also coming home in the top ten in Race 2 as teammate De Angelis had a small run off but recovered to remain in the points.

Both riders battled Althea BMW pair Reiterberger and Torres, before De Angelis suffered a gearbox malfunction with 5 laps to go and ran on and out of the battle. Savadori, however, managed to keep his pace until the end of the race and in Race 2 cut his gap to the winner.

“I'm satisfied with the race because we were able to re-center on the top ten after Race 1 yesterday,” said Savadori. “The positive thing is that we have definitely improved the gap to the front guys. Unfortunately I made a small mistake at the end, and then I lost seven seconds but in the race I fought for a long time with Reiterberger and his BMW.”

"I don't know what exactly happened in the lap where I went outside the track, but it seems that the gearbox did not work,” explained De Angelis. “I'm sorry for the race because I was going so much better than yesterday. We are on the right path, we just have to solve these little problems."

The Aprilia duo now head to WorldSBK at MotorLand Aragon as the paddock returns to Europe.
